The Mistwood Cays (or sometimes, just “The Mistwood”) are a large network of multiple tiny islands that have been joined and stabilized by an extensive network of mangrove trees. Though the borders of the Mistwood are home to large logging and ship-building industries (under the control of the Mistwood Authority, part of the Mandateum), the inner depths of the jungle are mapless wilds, where entire communities are sometimes discovered living among the tangled roots and winding waterways.
The entire region has no significant elevation to speak of, and during the wet season, a foggy mist permeates the wood, whose trackless depths will eternally trap even the most skillful explorer.
